Prayer Share

When awful things were happening in my life I didn’t ask for prayer because of:

-my pride

-my fear of losing control and crying in public

-looking like I couldn’t cope as well as others around me

-others might think God didn’t love me because I always seemed to be in trouble

-I had a martyr complex, bearing burdens all alone

-I was raised to keep stuff quiet and in the family

-I was ashamed to have to ask for help, even prayer

-lack of self worth; maybe God wouldn’t answer my prayers

-the people I told might gossip

-I didn’t know anyone well enough to ask for prayer.

Then I read this verse.

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (James 5:16, NIV)

Prayer- Lord when we get in the way of our own healing, show us the truth in your Word. Amen.
