My daughter-in-law left a lovely lunch for my granddaughter, but she much preferred the fancy store bought version in the fridge. I’m sure it was meant for a treat later in the week, but granddaughter did not like to think so and helped herself to the store version.
So did she think she wouldn’t be found out? Or that forgiveness was easier to get than permission? Perhaps she would just cry sorry when she was found out. Did she intend to talk herself out of the mess or even worse, blame me????
We handle disobedience in much the same way, don’t we?
So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it. For the message God delivered through angels has always stood firm, and every violation of the law and every act of disobedience was punished. So what makes us think we can escape if we ignore this great salvation that was first announced by the Lord Jesus himself and then delivered to us by those who heard him speak? (Hebrews 2:1-3, NLT)
Prayer -Lord give us the courage to face the truth through your eyes. Amen
