Prune Pie

John 4:14– Jesus said, “Everyone who drinks this water will get thirsty again and again. Anyone who drinks the water I give will never thirst-not ever. The water I give will be an artesian spring within, gushing fountains of endless life.” (MSG)

When her hubby raved about my mom’s prune pie, she decided that she could make prune pie, too. And she did, serving it at the next get-together. The crust was lovely and flaky, but the middle was hard as a rock!

“Oh, she cried, when mom pointed out the problem, “I didn’t know that you had to soak the prunes in water. I just dumped them in the pie shell!”

In fact, prunes must be reconstituted in order to be edible. Cover the prunes with hot water and either cook them on the stove, stick them in the microwave for a few minutes, or soak them in the fridge over night. Either way, water or some other liquid is a must.

People are like prunes. A good soaking in the Holy Spirit softens all our hard areas and makes us useable.

Everybody! Head first!! Dive in!!

Prayer: Oh, God, speak to any dried prune areas in us right this minute! In Christ’s Name. Amen.
