Puffed Up

Recently a friend shared a recipe for Puffy Paint. You mix one tablespoon of self-rising flour and one tablespoon of salt in a little bowl. Then you add about ¼ teaspoon water and mix. It should be slightly thick. Next, add food colouring of your choice. If it gets too thick just add a smidge more water. You will of course need several batches, each of a different colour.

You can use cotton swabs for paint brushes and paint your puffy onto cardstock or cardboard. Then you pop it into the microwave for 25-30 seconds (Depends on your microwave heat!) The paintings puff up in there. Be careful taking them out of the microwave as they will be rather warm.

I guess you could call it proud painting instead puffed up is another name for pride.

Why should you [get puffed up and] destroy yourself [with presumptuous self-sufficiency]? (Ecclesiastes 7:16b AMP)

So play children’s puffy paint all you like…but avoid the adult version.

Prayer – Father, if we get above ourselves, bring us down to size ASAP—for Christ, who humbled himself on our behalf. Amen
