Overheard at a craft sale:
“I bought one quartz rock already but I think I will get another one. In fact I should have one in every room. My meditation group members use them to stare at. It makes us calm.” I guess she hasn’t heard what God said about that.
You shall not make for yourself [to worship] a graven image or any likeness of anything that is in the heavens above or that is in the earth beneath or that is in the water under the earth. (Deuteronomy 5:8, AMP)
Sorry lady there is only one Rock that is worth staring at and meditating/praying on.
And they all drank the same spiritual (supernaturally given) drink. For they drank from a spiritual Rock which followed them [produced by the sole power of God Himself without natural instrumentality], and the Rock was Christ. (1 Corinthians 10:4, AMP)
As it is written, Behold I am laying in Zion a Stone that will make men stumble, a Rock that will make them fall; but he who believes in Him [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] shall not be put to shame nor be disappointed in his expectations. (Romans 9:33, AMP)
Prayer – Lord, intervene in the lives of those who worship inanimate things and teach them about the Christ, the real solid Rock. Amen
