Reasoning

Have you noticed that the disciples never went around saying things like I should have? No, instead they moved on from where they were. No ruminating on the past for them. On the other hand, the chief priests and scribes argued and discussed and reasoned together with themselves. (Luke 20:5, AMP) Where did that get them? All they got were the answers they had in their own heads. No God input there!

SULLOGIZOMAL is the Greek word here for reasoning and it means to reckon together with oneself.

Is that how we live our lives? I should have…, I wish I hadn’t…  What if I had…? Do we decide what to do based on our own reasonings?

In Isaiah 1:18 God uses the word YAKACH meaning to be right, correct, to argue, decide, justify, convict, convince, judge or reason together

Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool. (Isaiah 1:18, AMPC.

The God way is to stop arguing with yourself and instead move into conversations with God, who reasons with your salvation in mind.
