Ringleader

Dare I call Peter a ringleader” He always seemed to head up the group with ideas. A ringleader is sometimes defined as a person who initiates or leads an illicit or illegal activity but he can also be the leader of an unofficial group. (Let’s go with that one!)  Simon Peter, the unofficial leader of the disciples…

…said to them, I am going fishing! They said to him, we are coming with you! They went out and got into the boat, and throughout that night they caught nothing. (John 21:3, AMP)

Because they were fishing at night, experts believe that they were using a long dragnet, with floats at the top and weights below.  (See Luke 5:4-6)

They worked all night and caught nothing. Then Jesus appeared and said, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.”  They cast the net, and now they were not able to haul it in for such a big quantity of fish was in it. (John21;6, AMP)

Will you consider friends, that sometimes Jesus delays blessings so that we might experience even bigger ones?
