Risen

Now don’t do the usual Christian thing where we pick holes in the plot, the characters and ask ourselves if it’s true to the Bible!  ‘Risen’ is a Hollywood movie.

Truthfully, at first glance, one or two of the disciples seemed a little over the top. But think about it: Jesus was dead and now he is alive! How would you act under the circumstances if some one you loved suddenly showed up—ALIVE! You’d be over the top too!

Now for the painful question I asked myself and now I ask you.

• WHY aren’t we over the top with the joy of Jesus raised from the dead?
• WHY do we take it for granted?
• WHY aren’t we living differently because of it?

If we had been those disciples, would our reaction change the world or would it be its same old self, unknowing, uncaring that the Saviour of the World was ALIVE, forgiving sins, promising eternal life?

And he said to them, Do not be amazed and terrified; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, Who was crucified. He has risen; He is not here. (Mark 16:6a, AMP)

Prayer – Lord, awake the sleeping joy within us that we might show the world what its like to know the Christ, risen from the dead! Amen
