Running with Horses

Jeremiah’s prayer (From Jeremiah 12)

O Lord you let me discuss issues of justice with You: Why have the wicked prospered?   Why do the treacherous thrive? You planted them; they took root. They grew and prospered but you are far from their minds.

God you know my devotion to you and you examine my heart.

How long must the land mourn and the grass of the countryside wither? You know the wickedness and hypocrisy of those who live in it. Beasts and birds are consumed and swept away. Men mock me

God’s rebuking answer – “If you have raced with men on foot and they have tired you out, then how can you compete with horses?

Dear Readers, did you catch that? We are supposed to be running with horses, far beyond the every day wicked person. God gives us stamina to run with horses!

Do you know why God leads us out into the deep waters?

When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, put out into the deep water, and lower your nets for a haul. (Luke 5:4, AMPC)

He calls us into the deep because our enemies can’t swim. And God gives us strength and ability to run with horses.

But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] will gain new strength and renew their power. They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not grow tired. (Isaiah 40:31, NIV)

Prayer-Lord, we believe in you for our strength to go on, running with horses, flying like eagles. Amen.
