Shhhh!

The loudest word in the English language is Shhhh! Just try sleeping while a mom is determined to keep her little ones quiet on your behalf!

“SHHHH!” she hisses. And the sound reverberates through your head because it is a different decibel than normal conversation. The sad thing is that it doesn’t really work. The kids are still noisy and you are very awake.

Shhhh-ing didn’t even work when those against Christ determined to quiet the disciples. 

(So) they summoned them and imperatively instructed them not to converse in any way or teach at all in or about the name of Jesus.  But Peter and John replied to them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you and obey you rather than God, you must decide (judge).  But we (ourselves) cannot help telling what we have seen and heard.  (Acts 4:18-20, AMP)

Prayer: Lord God, may the Shhh-ing of others never keep us from sharing Your word. In Christ. Amen.
