Shining Bits of Jesus

Some of the baubles I got for Christmas are goners now. They broke, or never worked in the first place. Or the clothing had a sparkly bit that washed off or faded. Few worldly things stand the test of time.

It’s easier to judge their value once the tissue paper and colored ribbons are removed. Yes, once we use them, their true value is displayed.

The one true gift is the Christ who is the reason for the season in the first place.

Now thanks be to God for His Gift, [precious] beyond telling [His indescribable, inexpressible, free Gift]! (2 Corinthians 9:15, AMP)

We might find it difficult to be shining bits of Christ, but that is what we are. Our job is to exude his joy, his salvation, his love to the rest of the world.

How are you doing as you shine for Christ? Hopefully we haven’t faded like those gaudy shirts that lose their sparkle once they hit the laundry.

Prayer- Father, show us where we’ve lost our sparkle and help us be bright again, for you. Amen.
