“I love that you wrote “Jesus loves You.” on the memo line of your check, so that whoever processes it at the Credit Union got the message. However, because you forgot to sign it the people at your bank haven’t received the message yet. You could sign it and send it through again. That way your message reaches more people!“
That’s the note I found in my church mail box this week. I’d written a check for the offering, and added my usual “Jesus loves you” note, but it came back to me because I hadn’t signed the check!
Thank God, Jesus takes our offering, signed or otherwise, because He already became the offering of sin on our behalf.
Hebrews 1:3-He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high (ESV).
And he never changes.
Hebrews 13:8-Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (ESV).
We can depend on Him to accept us as we are. Indeed, He waits patiently while we learn that our signature on our salvation is useless. Then He takes his signature to the bank of heaven on our behalf. Oh what a wonderful Savior.
Prayer: God, we thank you for the death and resurrection of your Son Jesus, whose signature on our life guarantees us a place in heaven, Amen.
