Sitcom versus Mini-series

We strive for a mini-series solution in a sitcom society, when life itself responds to neither.

We can’t solve all our problems in eight weeks of short stories, especially in a world that has the attention span of a thirty-minute sitcom. Oh yes, we gasp in horror at the latest atrocities, but in no time at all, we are back to our everyday short-sighted selves, dashing around the community in Pokémon mode.

The newscasters and talk show hosts ask themselves and one another what we ought to do. I yell at the radio/TV and what do I say? JESUS!!! THEY NEED TO KNOW JESUS AS THEIR PERSONAL SAVIOUR!!!!!

And the world goes on, paying no attention at all.

I hope you are not one of the foolish.

God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. (John 3:17, MSG)

Prayer – God, how do you stand our blindness? For Christ who died for those who would not see. Amen
