Slip ‘N Slide

Do you remember that fun kid’s game, Slip ‘n’ Slide?  We used to run the water hose over a plastic sheet and the kids would slip and slide their way down to the bottom of the plastic. Great fun.

That game is a picture of life, don’t you think? We slip and slide our way through every life, hoping not to slip up and definitely hoping not to slide through our day.

The truth is we all slip sometimes.

For I said, “Do not let them gloat or exalt themselves over me when my feet slip.”(Psalm 38:16, NIV)

But the chance of slipping is lessoned if we keep God’s Word in our hearts and live by it.

The law of their God is in their hearts; their feet do not slip. (Psalm 37:31, NIV)

When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. (Psalm 94:18, NIV)

Prayer- Thank you, Lord, that we can trust you to keep us on our feet. Amen.
