So That

Months after a long illness, I realized that the outcome of that terrible time was a closer personal relationship with God. One could even say that God used my sickness, ‘so that’ He could refresh our friendship.

We all hope that there is some reason, some purpose for our pain. ‘What if we looked at our lives through the ‘so that’s?’ Maybe you’ll recognize yourself in some of these.

We struggle financially so that we learn to lean on God alone.

We care for an aging relative so that God can heal relationships.

Difficult teenagers gave us greater understanding so that we pursue a career in youth ministry.

We may not know it at the time, but later we might realize every part of our life happened so that……….

We might not be able to sense a ‘so that’ here on earth, but we certainly find out when we get to heaven.

Jesus was about to be ridiculed, whipped and left to die on a cross but he recognized his chance at the so that’s.

John 17:1- When Jesus had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, Father, the hour has come. Glorify and exalt and honor and magnify Your Son, so that Your Son may glorify and extol and honor and magnify You (AMP).

Prayer: Lord, may we too glorify, extol, honor, and magnify you, especially in the midst of our so that’s. Amen.
