Did you know that outdoor solar lights also give light in the inside dark? Bring them in to the house during a power failure and you won’t need candles or flashlights. Just prop the lights up in a large vase or jar and enjoy the bright!
Just like solar lights, the Holy Spirit wants to brighten up our inside as well as our outside.
Think how much more the blood of Christ cleans up our whole lives, inside and out. (Hebrews 9:14b, MSG)
When we give him our past thoughts, emotions and traumas, he works in us to get rid of the dark and bring the bright light of Christ into them. If we are wise, we accept that light with joy and thanksgiving, for none of us want to be Pharisees, do we?
Then the Lord said to him, “Now then, you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness. You foolish people! Did not the one who made the outside make the inside also? (Luke 11:39-40, NIV)
Prayer – Lord, we can’t bear to look at our insides, but your light makes it possible. Thank you! Amen
