Spotless

When my Mom did the spring cleaning the whole place was turned upside down. Curtains were ripped from their moorings; washed and ironed and the walls were all scrubbed down before those curtains were rehung.

No one felt at ease till every corner was dusted and maybe even repainted. A week or two later, everything shone and we could settle down into normal living again.

How is the house cleaning going at your house? Never mind the dusty corners of your house; what about the dusty corners of your mind? What negative thoughts and habits lurk there? What unforgiveness clogs your brain? How many hours of electronic media gossip fill your thoughts?

Where do you owe an apology or a kind thought?

That kind of cleaning is not so visible, but it is more important to clean out the cobwebs of your mind rather than the ones under your sink.

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:5-6, NIV)

Prayer- Father, point out our dusty spots and help us clean them out. Amen.
