Lately, we’ve heard of a few sports players standing up for what they believe. They’ve faced all kinds of pressure to conform to the world’s wishes. They said no, they said they would follow Jesus.
Lots of discussions followed about free speech for everyone except the young men who stood up for Christ. Surely, they too have the right to free choice, don’t they?
If you know you are right you just have to stand up and say so. So, do we?
1. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart
2. And with all your soul
3. And with all your mind (intellect).
This is the great (most important, principal) and first commandment. And a second is like it:
4. You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself. (Matthew 22:37-39)
Let’s not let these brave young men stand alone.
And by the way, if we aren’t willing to stand up for what we say we believe, then, it would be wise to keep our mouth shut!
