A little boy gave his small meal of loaves and fishes. Jesus blessed it and fed 5000 men plus women and children… (See Matthew 14:13-21) What are you willing to give to the Christ?
We are actually working with God to broaden the sphere of giving. As we give, others around us participate because of our example. Lives change, relationships change and communities are enriched.
We have an opportunity to share the truth of Christ. When I get my taxes done, the folks always say…are you giving that much? You can’t afford it! They do not understand that my giving provides for my lifestyle. The cash I have left after giving my 10% and more is multiplied beyond measure and somehow God makes it go farther.
Remember: A stingy planter gets a stingy crop; a lavish planter gets a lavish crop. I want each of you to take plenty of time to think it over, and make up your own mind what you will give. That will protect you against sob stories and arm-twisting. God loves it when the giver delights in the giving. (2 Corinthians 9:7, MSG)
Prayer- Lord, we thank you for the joy that giving brings to us. Amen.
