Swallow Tales

Some common food for whales include smaller whales, penguins, seals, sea lions, otters, bits of polar bears, moose, reptiles, shrimp, and many other animals.

However, this is the scary part. I guess you aren’t eating plastic bags or golf balls for lunch today, but beached whales have been found with yogurt cups, shoe parts, food wrappers, and golf balls in their stomachs. One even swallowed a pair of sweatpants. Maybe they were Jonah’s?

The list goes on. Plastic sheeting, rope, garden hose, flower pots, spray canisters, and even cigarette butts. Some whales have mouths as large as five feet across and swallow their food whole… and then there is that pesky Jonah lunch.

God sent out a great wind. (Jonah 1:4) Now if God is able to send a great wind he surely can do prepare and anoint a great fish to swallow Jonah (Jonah 1:17)

Can’t you hear the other whales teasing the Jonah whale?

“What a big mouth you have. Be careful. You could even swallow a person with that flapper.”

His mom probably insisted that he mind his manners.

“You are such a pig; why, you eat so fast you can’t even taste your food.”

When the Lord wants a job done, he prepares the vehicles to do it.

Prayer – Oh God, we stand amazed at your skills and your ways and are grateful, even when you use us in ways that make us stand out from the crowd. Amen
