Is that you? Sometimes it’s me, eating a cookie when what I really want is to lose that last five pounds. Or yelling at the children about a few mud splatters when what I really want is their love and attention. Or spending too much on a dress that isn’t quite what I wanted.
Wise advice: Don’t exchange what you want most for what you want in the moment.
So today you have homework. Ask yourself these questions:
- What do I really want out of my life?
- Am I doing what I need to do to get it?
- What am I willing to give up, in order to have that?
What am I replacing it with? - Why am I doing everything possible to avoid getting that other thing?
Then face the truth, make the required changes and trust God to do this.
And I will restore or replace for you the years that the locust has eaten—the hopping locust, the stripping locust, and the crawling locust, My great army which I sent among you. (Joel 2:25, AMP)
Prayer – Lord, give us grace to make the exchange…Amen
