The Second Day

Jesus died on what we now call Good Friday. Why did it take three days for Him to be raised from the dead? Quite frankly, He was busy.

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits—to those who were disobedient long ago. (1 Peter 3:18-20b, NIV)

And now?

Jesus Christ is in Heaven and sits at God’s right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him. (1 Peter 3:21b-22, NIV)

But when this priest (Jesus) had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, andsince that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. (Hebrews 10:12-13, NIV).

Prayer- Dear God, never let us take for granted the huge thing that Jesus did when He died on the cross for us. Amen.
