There Was a Day

There was a day when a lie was a lie, not little, not white versus black but simply an untruth of any kind.

There was a day when safe sex meant no sex. Now it seems that we toss all common sense to the wind and have sex with anybody, any where and at any time.

There was a day when obscene pornography pictures were seen as the filth they are, not worshipped as “art.”

There was a day when greed was called like it is, but now it is couched in phrases like…”well, that’s just business, that’s the way to get ahead” and other not true thoughts.

There was a day when we called unbelief by its more common name…worry.

There was a day when gossip was known as the evil it is, and not used to take down another person, to hurt them to add another kind of lie to your repertoire.

There was a day when we believed every word in the Bible, the Holy Word of God. We did not  pick and choose the parts we like.

There was a day when God’s people were easily recognizable because they lived their lives differently from those who did not recognise him.

What does your day look like?  

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. (Psalm 1:1, NIV)

Prayer- Lord, give us the gumption to be what we should be in your sight and the sight of others. Amen.
