Threebies

Do you know that there are almost 400 Biblical threes? They include day three of creation, three decks on Noah’s ark, three men visiting Abraham, Moses hidden for three months, the number three repeatedly shows up in the design of the Ark of the Tabernacle, Joseph interpreted dreams full of threes, three hundred men for Gideon, Mary stayed with Elizabeth for three months, the rooster crowed three times, Peter denied the Christ three times, Jesus rose on the third day.

Then of course there are the three bad guys.

Revelation 20:10- The Devil who deceived them will be hurled into Lake Fire and Brimstone, joining the Beast and False Prophet, the three in torment around the clock for ages without end (MSG).

But the best three of all are the three that always remain constant- Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:18-20-Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: “God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age (NIV).”

Prayer: Lord, thanks for reminding us of you right from Genesis to Revelation. Now Lord, give us the grace to obey it. Amen.
