Time to Go

So many good byes over our lives, so many so long, see you laters, so many places to move, classes to take, marriages and jobs renewed. Still, we take our friends with us in our hearts. Why just look at Paul.

“And so this is good-bye. You’re not going to see me again, nor I you, you whom I have gone among for so long proclaiming the news of God’s inaugurated kingdom. I’ve done my best for you, given you my all, held back nothing of God’s will for you. (Acts 20:25-27, MSG)

Good bye? How to say? After all, don’t they know

That we sit here bemoaning and missing them so?

The loss, not just physical, but close friendships true,

The contact of journeys that takes paths askew?

But when God is leading what are we to do?

But walk in obedience, to God, through and through.

So off we all wander, our paths on their own,

But still carrying the joy that friendships have grown!

Prayer – Father, we  thank you for all the friends that have come into our lives over the past years; and the many more that yet to arrive. Amen
