To Cook or Not to Cook

Did you know that cooked foods are actually easier for your body to absorb?  Vegetables cooked in water may lose some of their nutrients, but they are captured in the cooking water for use in sauces and soups.

In fact only about 10% of nutrients are lost through cooking while cooking the food releases other nutrients for our use. Tomatoes, apples, peas and corn are only a few of the vegetables that  benefit us best when cooked.

Cooked food may be good for us but cooking up trouble is quite another.

Riffraff and rascals talk out of both sides of their mouths. They wink at each other, they shuffle their feet, they cross their fingers behind their backs. Their perverse minds are always cooking up something nasty, always stirring up trouble. (Proverbs 6:12b-14, MSG)

Prayer- Father God, help us put our cooking skills to good use, where it matters, not where it stirs up trouble. Amen
