Tranquility

Tranquility, yes tranquility was the code name for the much loved Barbara Bush. Some of the things mentioned at her funeral included:
-her desire for civility in politics
-her grace, dignity, and humor
-her ethics in public life
-her success as a wonderful first lady
-her love and friendship to the staff
-seventy-three years of marriage to George H.W. Bush

All of those things are truly wonderful considering the political climate today, but more than all that, I admired her kindness and friendship to the common folk. She kept in touch with the staff even after she left the white house. Her butler actually contributed at the funeral. It was said that the couple tried to stay in on most holidays so that their secret service members could be with their own families.

So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”(John 13:34-35, NLT)

Prayer- Lord, thank you for those who truly live as an example to the rest of us. For Christ. Amen.
