Trudging

“For the Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hand. He knows your  trudging  through this great wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing.”  (Deuteronomy 2:7, NKJV)

Is that what your life is like today? Are you trudging, slowly, step by step, each movement harder than the last?

To trudge is to walk a particular path or distance, a long and exhausting way with slow heavy weary steps.

Some days are like that, aren’t they? As usual God offers good advice.

Here is the way to rest.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11”28, NIV)

Here is the promise of rest.

Let us not become weary in doing good; for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9, NIV)

Here is the satisfaction of our rest already in place.

Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:3, NIV)

Here is the promise of supply in our trudging.

These forty years the Lord your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing.”  (Deuteronomy 2:7, NKJV)

Prayer- Lord we trust you through our trudging though it seems long and hard. Thank you for meeting us in the trudge. Amen.
