Unchangeable

Might I refer to the unchangeable as hard-hearted? We have certain prejudices that mark us out as troublemakers.    How adaptable are we to change? Do these comments sound familiar?

I don’t like the way the worship leader dresses so I don’t go to church.

Why aren’t women wearing dresses and hats to church? I don’t like that so I stay home.

The preacher laughs at his own jokes so I don’t like his sermons.

I always avoid four-lane highways.

But you always come to my house for Christmas.

I always have coffee at this place.

I am afraid of other people’s food so I avoid potlucks.

Change is inevitable if we want to grow closer to God. So, are we?

How about this one?

So repent, change your mind and your purpose. Turn around and return to God, so that your sins may be erased, blotted out, and wiped clean. Let times of refreshing come from the presence of the Lord.  (Acts 3:19)
