Unchanging

Cradle phones, and police carelessly handling the evidence with no thought of DNA caught my eye as the movie unfolded. Elevator boys, a ribbon typewriter, and an all male jury completed the picture.

Wow. Times have changed haven’t they? Who else remembers the good old days? Now who wants to go back to them? I thought so. We like our conveniences, don’t we?

Is anything the same as it used to be? As far as I know, only God and His purpose remain unchanged.

Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath.  (Hebrews 6:17, NIV)

Unfortunately, we often treat God and His Word as just another convenience, a place to go to when we want something.

Let this verse be both our truth and our prayer.

Prayer: Lord God, we delight in Your decrees. We will not neglect Your word. Amen. (from Psalm 119:16)
