Under His Wings

Psalm 91:4 – (Then) He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler (AMP).

Surely, the tiny red car would be crushed by oncoming traffic. The driver had misjudged his passing distance. Another car was hurdling down upon him. There was nowhere to go—-or was there?  Ron couldn’t believe his eyes. He blinked. It was still there. The tiny little sport car and driver were safely tucked under the huge tractor-trailer they had tried to pass. It looked impossible, but there they were, safe from all the other vehicles. When all danger was past, the driver moved to a more sensible driving spot behind his unexpected protection, the truck.

Miraculous story isn’t it?  But unusual? No, not really. How many times have we rushed ahead of our protection, the Living God, only to realize at the last minute that we have stepped into danger? Fortunately, we can choose to slide back under His wings to safety and obedience, following where He would lead us.

Prayer: Lord, we’ve been on the wrong side of the highway, whizzing along at a pace you didn’t set. Forgive us. We are stepping back under the safety of your wings. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
