Unexpected Flavors

I like chocolate but I am not so sure I would like it combined with some of the other ingredients I saw on line today.  I found recipes for olives dipped in chocolate, candy bars spread with caviar, and chocolate with sage. Others included chocolate poured over fillet sole and chocolate with onions stirred in. EWWW!

Isn’t that what the world is like? Imagine the chocolate as the world. Now stir in a few sour, fishy, spicy, delicate, and sweet or overpowering people and what do you get? You get a chocolate stew of multiple flavors of people shouting ‘ME’ to the world.

It’s been my experience though; that after we’ve stewed together in the chocolate of the Gospel for awhile, we become more like a Chocolate Bridge Mix. You know, raisins, peanuts, almonds and jellies mixed together and everyone of us of giving off more flavor of JESUS than ourselves.

Now that is a great recipe for success!

For by the grace (unmerited favor of God) given to me I warn everyone among you not to estimate and think of himself more highly than he ought [not to have an exaggerated opinion of his own importance], but to rate his ability with sober judgment, each according to the degree of faith apportioned by God to him.

For as in one physical body we have many parts (organs, members) and all of these parts do not have the same function or use,So we, numerous as we are, are one body in Christ (the Messiah) and individually we are parts one of another [mutually dependent on one another].(Romans 12:3-5, AMP)

Prayer: Lord let us become recipes that the world will want to be, rather than the ones we used to be. In Christ. Amen.
