If God made the human body (i.e. Adam) out of dirt, why is our body 60% water? God had to make man out of wet dirt because the whole surface of the earth was wet!
—the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth ———but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground. THEN!!! the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground . (From Genesis 2:5-7, NIV)
No wonder water is so important to our well-being. You might say it is part of our DNA.
Our brains are brains are 70% water, our blood is 80% water and our lungs an astounding 90% water. Depending on the climate and conditions, it is possible to live about 3 weeks without food but only 3-5 days without water.
Jesus must have known the importance of water. After all, he began his wedding miracle with it.
When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. (John 2:3, 7, NIV)
Prayer: Lord may we never take water for granted, even though it often appears to be ordinary and mundane and even boring. Amen.
