Weighted Wings

The sign suggested that I could win my weight in wings. Just between you and I, that’s enough wings to feed the local high school team after a football game.

I got to wondering about the kind of wings they were offering. Maybe I had the picture wrong. Maybe it was for bat wings or airplane wings or maybe they just wanted me to ‘wing it.’

But what if they really meant angel wings? Maybe I could have the biggest angel wings in heaven if I only followed the contest rules. Then I remembered Galatians Chapter Three and I thought I heard God whisper…‘O you poor and silly and thoughtless and unreflecting and senseless Brenda!’

Just like the Galatians, I was getting the Law all mixed up with Faith. Check it out for yourself. Read Galatians chapter three, putting your name in place of the Galatians.

And you too will hear God whisper…

Galatians 3:1, 7- O you poor and silly and thoughtless and unreflecting and senseless _______!

Who has fascinated or bewitched or cast a spell over _______you, unto whom—right before your very eyes—Jesus Christ (the Messiah) was openly and graphically set forth and portrayed as crucified?  Know and understand that it is [really] the people [who live] by faith who are [the true] sons of Abraham.

Prayer: Lord, keep our minds from inventing what we know nothing about. In Christ. Amen.
