Welcome to Heaven

(From Tracy Campbell‘s article What Does Heaven Look Like?)

That wondrous city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of the skies from God, is filled with the glory of God and flashes and glows like a precious gem, crystal clear like jasper. Its walls are broad and high, with twelve gates guarded by twelve angels. The city itself is pure, transparent gold, like glass.

The wall is of jasper and built on twelve layers of foundation stones inlaid with gems of jasper, sapphire, chalcedony, emerald, sardonyx,  sardus, chrysolite, beryl, topaz, chrysoprase, jacinth, and amethyst.

The twelve gates are made of pearls—each gate from a single pearl. The gates never close! They stay open all day long.

The River of the Water of Life, clear as crystal; flows from the throne of God and the Lamb, right down the main street.

On each side of the river grows Trees of Life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, with a fresh crop each month. There will be no night there—no need for lamps or sun—for the Lord God will be their light.

Nothing evil will be permitted in it—no one immoral or dishonest—but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. (Revelation 21)

And someday, dear friends, we as believers in Christ, shall be there.

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God; let us hold fast our profession. (Hebrews 4:8, AMP)

Prayer – Lord, we see your wonders before us and yearn for the day we meet you face to face in your heavens. Amen
