What Are You Wearing?

A professional declutterer sorts items into four boxes labelled as:

Box 1 -Never wear (get rid of that stuff!)

Box 2 – Love but never wear (Decide why and deal with stuff accordingly)

Box 3 -Alterations (Fix/repair and wear)

Box 4 -Always wear (Enjoy each article

May I point out that these boxes are a clear portrayal of our relationship with Christ.

………………………………………………………………………….…….

Box 1– Don’t know about Christ, or heard and disbelieved or closed your mind to Christ

You let the world, which doesn’t know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience. (Ephesians 2:1-2, MSG) ………………………………………………………………………………………………

Box 2– You made a commitment to the Lord. You love the whole idea of eternal life but you don’t care to make any serous life changes.

“I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You’re not cold, you’re not hot—far better to be either cold or hot! You’re stale. You’re stagnant. You make me want to vomit. You brag, ‘I’m rich, I’ve got it made, I need nothing from anyone,’ oblivious that in fact you’re a pitiful, blind beggar, threadbare and homeless. (Revelation 3:16-17, MSG)

……………………………………………………………………………………..….

Box 3– You recognize that God is asking some things of you and you are willing to comply.

This Isaiah-prophesied sermon came to life in Galilee the moment Jesus started preaching. He picked up where John left off: “Change your life. God’s kingdom is here.” (Matthew 4:17, MSG) ………………………………………………………………………………………….

Box 4-You love, honour and serve the Lord God with all your heart soul, mind and body.

There should be a consistency that runs through us all. For Jesus doesn’t change—yesterday, today, tomorrow, he’s always totally himself. (From Hebrews 413:8, MSG)

Prayer- Lord, we want to all be in box 4. Help us please. Amen.
