What Do You Treat Jesus?

The men in charge of Jesus began poking fun at him, slapping him around. They put a blindfold on him and taunted, “Who hit you that time?” They were having a grand time with him. (Luke 22:63-65, MSG)

Roman soldiers treated him badly but are we any different? Sometimes we put Jesus in the same position.

We want this answer, that solution; and we want it now! Doesn’t Jesus know who we are? We demand our own way.

We play the game. He is mine to order around. We say “He is mine and I am his.”

Yes that is so, but he is not ours to order about as we please.

We are not politicians who get away with twisting words. We can’t make what he says to be extra special for us.

Dear Fellow Christians, sometimes we are not worthy of the name!

Prayer-Lord, teach us how to be humble in your service. Amen.
