What’s That?

Do you ever get the feeling no one knows what you are talking about? Remember this old story?

The Doctor’s receptionist asked Bill what he had. “’Shingles.” says he. She wrote down all his medical information and told him to take a seat.

A few minutes later, the nurse’s aide followed the same routine.

 A half hour later, the nurse practitioner again asked him what he had.. Bill replied (for the third time!)…shingles… so she gave Bill a blood test, a blood pressure test, an electrocardiogram, and told Bill to put on a gown and wait for the doctor.

An hour later the doctor came in and found Bill sitting patiently on a stretcher. The doctor also asked Bill what he had. 

Bill said …again… “Shingles.”   The doctor asked, “Where”?

And Bill said…” Outside on the truck. Where do you want me to unload them?’

What I want to talk about now is the various ways God’s Spirit gets worked into our lives. This is complex and often misunderstood, but I want you to be informed and knowledgeable. (1 Corinthians 12:1)

Pay attention when the Lord speaks. We dare not be misinformed about the Holy Spirit or God’s gifts. (1 Corinthians 12:1)
