Author friend Patricia E. Day and I spent last weekend offering our books for sale at a craft show. We watched the potential buyers with great interest. Several approached the tables, but carefully avoided eye contact, as if looking into the eyes of a vendor demanded a purchase.
Still others walked down the middle of the aisle, ready to run if approached in any way. Many even refused the offer to enter the draw for a free book. However, many others ventured to speak to us and yes, even take advantage of the free offer.
When someone offered you the chance to meet Christ, what did you do? Did you keep your eyes down and run away? Did you cling to the middle road and hope that was enough to get you into heaven?
Hopefully, you were one of the willing few to choose Christ’s offer of salvation; salvation with no cost to you. You see, Christ, the Son of God paid the price for your sin when he died on the cross.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16, NIV)
Prayer – Lord, give us the grace to choose your free offer of salvation; that free offer that cost you so much. Amen
