When God Gives

One of my friends won a month of free bagels at a local shop. She ate there 2-3 times and was grateful for the gift of a free bagel every time.

Another friend won a month of free bagels too. She ate lunch at that shop almost every day. She said that when God blesses you, you should take the blessing he offers.

What is God offering you today? A friend who wants to bring you a dinner or a ride to the local shop? Babysitting for the afternoon? Perhaps even a free edit of your latest manuscript?

And you say… “No thanks, I don’t want that. Don’t bother. I’m fine.”

Perhaps you even prayed for some financial help (and it arrived in the form of a meal).

You prayed for some groceries (and your friend offered a ride to the shop).

You prayed for a rest (and someone offered to babysit).

You wrote that manuscript and don’t know how to proceed (and your friend offered to edit).

AND you refused all the answers to your prayer. Shame on you.

Why are you too proud to take that offered gift? Why are you hurting your friend’s feelings by rejecting their kindness; their kindness which is a gift God placed on their mind to give?

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11:24, NIV)

Prayer – Lord, give us the common sense to see the answers to our prayers. Amen.
