When God Speaks

Daniel humbly explained Nebuchadnezzar’s dream.

“While you were stretched out on your bed, O king, thoughts came to you regarding what is coming in the days ahead. The Revealer of Mysteries showed you what will happen. But the interpretation is given through me, not because I’m any smarter than anyone else in the country, but so that you will know what it means, so that you will understand what you dreamed. (Daniel 2:29-30, MSG)

When we happen to know a little more than the average guy about a certain topic, how do we act when we reveal that knowledge? The following verses are about a different subject, but it’s the same Daniel!

So he said to me, “O Daniel, you highly regarded and greatly beloved man, understand the words that I am about to say to you and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you.” And while he was saying this word to me, I stood up trembling. Then he said to me, “Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words. (Daniel 10:11-12, AMP)

Prayer – Oh God, help us indeed to humble ourselves in your sight, for only then can you lift us up. Amen (from James 4:10, KJV)
