When Will You?

When I heard Mary Legge’s story, I knew it needed to be a book. I volunteered to help her edit it. Mary had a goal to have the book finished by Christmas. And she did just that. Freedom from Chains is due from the printers any day now. Well done, Mary!

And then I have other friends who have discussed their books with me for at least ten years.

Them – “How can I get published?

Me- “What have you written so far?”

Them- “Well, nothing yet.”

Are you that kind of person too? Do you keep announcing your goal to everyone and never even start?

I quote Hazel McCallion, former Mayer of Mississauga, who said this. “We are all put on this earth for a purpose, so get to it!”

What is your get- to- it goal? Sitting around and waiting for someone else to do your work, doesn’t work. Surely you have read these encouraging Bible verses!

I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. This one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:12-14)

Or this. I can do all this through him (Christ) who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13)

Well? What will you do now?
