Where is Jesus – Get Real – Part 1

Oh aren’t we all sobby about what we are missing? (Listen folks; if this aren’t you; I suggest you stop reading right now.)

Be honest. Our granny was in the nursing home for five years and we saw her once. It depressed us so we didn’t go back. Not one thought about how it depressed granny.

Now we make news headlines while a camera conveniently follows us. We sob on door steps and make a big deal about waving at Granny through the window. The truth is many of us wouldn’t recognise granny if she grabbed us with both hands and smucked us up the side of our head.

Anyway, somebody’s Granny looks out with a blank stare; not because of Alzheimer’s but because she hasn’t:

  • Seen us since we were teenagers.
  • Isn’t our Granny!
  • Meanwhile Granny is thinking “Who on earth are you?”
  • She is thinking “I wish I had my hair done before my TV debut.
  • Why are these windows so dirty?

“And when you come before God, don’t turn that into a theatrical production either. All these people making a regular show out of their prayers, hoping for stardom! Do you think God sits in a box seat? (Matthew 6:5, MSG)

Prayer- Lord, we ask that you show us our true selves, and then help us overcome them. Amen.
