Which One Is Missing?

Hebrews 10:25Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching (NIV) .

As I recite the books of the Old Testament to you, can you figure out which one I left out?

The list starts with Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, and 1 and 2 Samuel.

Then we have 1 and 2 Kings, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Psalms, Proverbs and Ecclesiastes.

And don’t forget Song of Solomon, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea and Joel.

Finally, we have Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi.

Yes, you are right. Micah is missing. We could probably muddle along without it, but we would miss precious truths. Our church families could muddle along without us too, but it just wouldn’t be the same. Let’s worship together this Sunday.

Prayer: Lord, when we avoid meeting with one another, help us see why, deal with it and join the family again. In Christ‘s name we pray. Amen.
