Why Lift Weights

Studies show that weight lifting prolongs our life, protects our bones and improves both our balance and our strength. We’ll have better moods, look great in our clothes and even help our hearts. The more you lift, the stronger you get.

Now if that is true in the physical, why should it not be so in the spiritual? We all have burdens to carry.

For while we are still in this tent, we groan under the burden and sigh deeply (weighed down, depressed, oppressed). (2 Corinthians 5:4a, AMP)

In fact we are told to carry one another’s burdens.

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.  (Galatians 6:2, NIV)

And the weights God gives us are not heavy, though we sometimes treat them as such.

For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:30, NIV)

Prayer – Lord, help us see our weights through your eyes… Amen
