Our church runs a give and take website for church members. Money never changes hands but we pass stuff back and forth among us, hopefully saving money and recycling at the same time.
One gal recently offered up an unopened bottle of corn syrup. One person asked for the bottle but several others gave suggestions on how to use it! Pour it on ice cream, serve it on pancakes, eat it by the spoonful, and make pecan pies. On and on the list went.
I thought it was an interesting look at life. We are all happy to offer well-meaning suggestions on how other people should live.
Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of a friend springs from their heartfelt advice. (Proverbs 27:9, NIV)
The question is this. Which advice should we take?
But Rehoboam rejected the advice the elders gave him. (1 Kings 12:8a, NIV)
Prayer – Father God, give us wisdom that we might know what to do in the midst of a problem. Amen
