Writing a Psalm

Our pastor challenged us to write a psalm. This is my effort. I pray it blesses you and that you write your own.

Speak Lord for thy servant heareth. Praise your name, Lord. Praise your name.

My heart longs to commune with you. Your love covers me like a mantle. Your heart fills mine with joy. You call me your beloved and so I am. I am being eternally loved, overwhelmingly valued, and endlessly dear to you.

What have I done to be so special?  Nothing, but being here. You are approachable, a listening ear. Who else listens so to my poured-out heart with such concentration? Only you Lord, my destiny. My salvation, my soul keeper.

You came for me, drew me to you; protected my life again and again. I live for you Father, Christ, and Holy Spirit. I cling to Mark 6:3…all I have to do is believe and you take care of the rest and the rest is my rest in you. Amen

My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.  (Psalm 45:1, NIV)

Why not write a Psalm yourself? God is listening.
