We always have options. We can do everything with all of our heart or none of it or some sort of pathway in between.
A sloppy housekeeper lets that fall into other areas of their life. A writer who doesn’t keep up with deadlines is not keeping up with other life deadlines. A dieter, cheating on their food count is likely fudging the books in other areas. (No pun intended here!)
As Doctor Phil put it in the September 2015 issue of Oprah, the way you do anything is the way you do everything.
So let’s be honest. How do you do your anything? What can you do with your anything and live it so that it is your every thing?
I used to describe myself as an all or nothing person and quoted lines like this. “When I was good I was very, very good and when I was bad I was awful.” And I lived that way.
I put my heart into some things and my nothing into others. When I decided to live my everything in everything I did, my life greatly improved. Yours will too.
That is exactly how God does everything too.
The day my enemies turned tail and ran, they stumbled on you and fell on their faces. You took over and set everything right; when I needed you, you were there, taking charge. (Psalm 9:3-4, MSG)
Prayer- Lord you have given us everything we need to do everything with our best efforts. Thank you God and smarten us up when we choose the wrong options. Amen.
