Do you remember the sweet refrain of the hymn, “surely the Presence of the Lord is in This Place”?
Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place. I can feel His mighty power and His grace. I can hear the brush of angels’ wings. I see glory on each face. Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.
What do we know about angels anyway? What do they do for us?
Well, the Bible says that little ones have angels, maybe adults do too.
“See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. (Matthew 18:10, NIV)
Angels speak with God’s voice and show us his ways.
“See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion, since my Name is in him. (Exodus 23:20-21, NIV)
Angels rejoiced when you and I repented and asked Christ to be our Lord and Saviour.
In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”(Luke 15:10, NIV)
Prayer – Lord, help us share the truth about Jesus so that your angels have a reason to rejoice! Amen
