My Body
It’s good and it’s kind, hips not quite sublime
But thankfully all in line with my spine!
Larger here, smaller there.
Got most of my body parts; all of my hair.
Most everything works, some days it seems.
It helps me fulfill most of my dreams.
I try to admire my negative bits
Happens when jeans tried on don’t fit.
Glad for my body, oh yes to be sure,
Cause without it, I’d just be one great big blur.
My eyes are quite blue, my hair grey in tone
I don’t bite my nails or waste time on the phone.
I’ve been fat. I’ve been thin, yet my skin always fits.
I’m grateful for shrinkage of all the right bits.
I give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. (Psalm 9:1, NIV)
